ABOUT NEIL

I have been a serving fire officer for 27 years in both West Midlands Fire Service and also Staffordshire Fire and Rescue service. I am currently an operational flexi duty Station Manager in Staffordshire based at Longton station which is home to  the services only Heavy Rescue tender. I am passionate in relation to improving extrication standards for all and competed for many years in extrication challenges before becoming an assessor for UKRO. Between 2007 and 2010 I was fortunate to become a lead instructor at the Fire Service College, Moreton-in- Marsh and delivered both RTCI and HGVI courses during this time. After a short break from UKRO I returned in 2014 and in 2015 I was privileged to be asked to become the chair for the Extrication Review Group (ERG) and also become deputy lead for extrication.
