Team HWFRS Extrication

The current Hereford & Worcester Extrication Team is based at Ross on Wye a small market town in Herefordshire.

TEAM DETAILS

The team was founded in 2011 from this retained unit and has now evolved to include members from across the service.

Team members include Adrian Phillips, Dan Gray, Shaun Moser, Pat Murphy, Matthew Richardson and Jayne Collins.

The team has worked hard since 2011 to learn progressively from each challenge attended, taking account of and learning from all provided feedback.

In 2017 the team placed 2nd in the World Challenge overall in Romania building on their 5th place achieved in Brazil in 2016.  Other accolades so far in 2018 include best international team in Luxembourg, best overall team in the Derbyshire UKRO regional and winners of the open section in South Wales.

The key objective of the formation of the team back in 2011 was to enhance and develop the skills of those who have devoted themselves to this activity. All members of the team respond operationally in their communities using these enhanced skills to make a difference where it counts.

The team now actively contributes to the training of others and also where appropriate informs the process of equipment provision within our service which further highlights the benefit of this activity.

The team are looking forward to a great challenge in South Wales with further opportunities to learn from the workshops, feedback of assessors and others teams attending. From H&W FRS good luck to all teams competing across all disciplines.
