TEAM DETAILS

West Midlands Fire Service Rope Rescue capability is provided by personnel from its Technical Rescue Unit. Established in 2006, initially as a USAR Team, West Midlands Fire Service Technical Rescue Unit now responds to Water Rescue, Animal Rescue, USAR, Rope Rescue, Confined Space Rescue and major transport incidents as a specialist response.

Today the Technical Rescue Unit consists of 48 Personnel based at two locations, providing Prevention, Protection and Response across the entire West Midlands conurbation.

Our team for UKRO 2018 is made up of a mixture of personnel from both locations. Some have previously participated at UKRO challenges but for most of the team 2018 will be the first time.

We are all very much looking forward to the challenge, to test our techniques and to exchange ideas with the other teams, we hope to gain a great deal from the experience.

See you in Cardiff!
